Kalimbas are lamellophone instruments that originated in southern Africa, where they can be found in countless forms and variations. Our Kalimba B17 is carefully handcrafted in Germany from solid American cherry wood. The surfaces are treated with plant-based oils and waxes and polished. The 17 keys are precisely tuned to the C major scale, allowing a wide variety of well-known songs to be played. The Kalimba B17 is also equally well suited for providing chordal accompaniment to melodies or for improvisation and intuitive playing.
